Colorado Department of Labor
August 3rd, 2006 Posted by HeatherColorado boasts a very worker and employer friendly Department of Labor and Employment. They believe that Colorado is a nice place to live and they want to ensure that continues. To them, that means never taking workers or businesses for granted. With that in mind, their web site has been designed to give up-to-date and accurate information.
For anyone interested in learning more about Colorado’s economy and job market, the site provides labor statistics, labor market information, earnings and unemployment data. There are even sections within here specific to job seekers and journalists/reporters.
For job seekers, the site has a wonderful resource called the Colorado Navigator. The system provides easy access to information that you can use to find a job, plan a career, or locate available programs for education and training. Navigator draws on an extensive database called ALMIS (America’s Labor Market Information System) that is maintained by economists and database analysts in the Colorado Labor Market Information Section.
On top of all the wonderful statistical information and job seeker assistance the site provides, you can find all the information pertaining to labor laws here. Wage laws, including the federal and state minimum wage, are provided and assistance with filing a claim is available. Youth labor laws and Workers’ Compensation rules and regulations are reviewed. The Department of Labor is also very concerned about law enforcement. From the web site, you can report Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Benefits fraud.
This is one of the most comprehensive labor department web sites. If the information you are looking for is related to labor, business or employment, chances are very good that you will find it at the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s web site.
