Illinois (IL) Department of Human Resources
August 15th, 2006 Posted by KimberlyWhat is happening with the Illinois (IL) Department of Human Resources? This department is the key player in many aspects of our lives. If you live in the state of Illinois or work here or own a business located here, this department is part of your every day well being. That is, it helps to regulate the work force, create new jobs, implement laws and enforce them. Yet, most do not really know what the Department of Labor, as it is officially called, can actually do. In addition, they may not understand any of the accomplishments that it faces either.
For example, the Illinois Department of Human Resources is one which provides a great deal of information to all of us that live in the state. One of the things that it provides is a look at the economy within the state. For example, it monitors the unemployment rate of citizens in our state to help it to determine how the economy is doing. In September of 2003, the unemployment rate hit a high of 6.9 percent. This rate was drastically high and over the course of the last few years, the Illinois Department of Human Resources has worked very hard with many players to help lower that rate to a low of just 4.5 percent as of July of 2006. The national unemployment rate is at 4.8 percent right now as well.
With this token of information we can see just as clearly as can be that our state’s well being in our economy has been improving, to a high level over the last years. In many ways, this is due to the programs and the training that has been provided through the Illinois Department of Human Resources. With this information as well as with the aid of businesses, it is likely that we can continue to see a drop in this rate over the next few years as well.
