In our state, there are several key role players as in governmental institutions. One of those role players is the Indiana (ID) Department of Human Resources. As the guiding force behind the work force in our state, it is essential that as citizens we know what is happening within that area. There are plenty of different ways that you can look at it but, for now, let’s concentrate on the fact that the department provides a great deal of information in what it is doing to improve our state.

For example, one area that is monitored monthly by the Indiana Department of Human Resources is that of the unemployment rate. This rate is a key role player in the foundation of our state’s economy. In July of 2003, the unemployment rate was set at 5.8 percent. Over the last several years, it has bounced up and down but is currently at 5.2 percent. The national unemployment rate is at 4.8 percent, still a bit lower than ours. In any case, since July of 2003, the Indiana Department of Human Resources has helped to create almost 94,000 jobs which is compared to the 5.5 million jobs that have been created over the national level. This shows that our state is doing fairly well.

The department is a key role player in many aspects of our lives from those that need unemployment to those that need help finding a job and even running their own business. In providing a good and fair work place, that is safe and secure, the business owner can reap the benefits offered by the Indiana Department of Human Resources. The employee can take full advantage of all of the other employment related benefits available including a wide range of training programs. This department helps to maintain and bring about all of those aspects.
