Maryland (MD) Department of Human Resources

Tapping into our Maryland (MD) Department of Human Resources is something that we all have the right to do. Yet, not many of us realize that there are helpful aspects to this department that we can and should take advantage of. In fact, the department offers several programs for those that need employment related help. For example, those that are in our state that need training and education in order to find the job that they would like can gain some of that help from this department.

This is evident by looking at Maryland’s unemployment rate. This rate has fallen from 4.6 percent in July of 2003 to just 4 percent as of July of 2006. In addition to this, it is evident from the increase in the number of jobs available. Since January of 2001, the state, this board and local businesses have been able to create upwards of 108,500 jobs in the state.

This has happened for a number of reasons. For one, the Maryland Department of Human Resources has had 1.1688 billion dollars sent to them to aid in this development program called the Job Training and Dislocated Worker Funds. This program provides necessary skills and career development within the state. Another program in place that helps to fund as well as provide the necessary help for employment needs is that of One Stop Career Centers also provided through this department within our state.

The Maryland Department of Human Resources has the job of insuring virtually all aspects of the work force. With these programs in place to aid in providing training, education and the necessary opportunities, there are abilities for many to find success. The unemployment rate within the state is already lower than the national level which is at 4.8 percent as of July 2006.
