The Iowa State Employer and Employee Posters are designed to make sure employees understand their rights under federal and state law. Each of the State Employer and Employee Posters has specific laws that relate to employment and where an employee can receive assistance if he or she feels that one of the laws have been violated.

The Iowa State Employer and Employee Posters contain information about state laws including Minimum Wage Law, OSHA - Health and Safety Health Protection, Discrimination Notice, Unemployment Insurance and Workers’ Insurance. Federal laws found on the poster include USERRA - Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law, Federal Minimum Wage, Employee Polygraph Protection Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and the OSHA-Job Safety & Health Protection Act.

It is very important that the poster is placed in a conspicuous place at work. Remember it is the employer’s responsibility to have the latest version on file in the work place because these posters are updated frequently. It is the law.
The latest update to the Iowa State Employer and Employee Posters occurred in July 2006 featuring an update of the Unemployment Insurance legislation. The amount an unemployment claimant can receive has increased. The average annual wage for insured Iowa workers increased to $ 32,867.66 in 2005 from the 2004 rate of $ 31,878.45. This increase only applies to those injured on the job after July 1, 2006.

Check the existing posters at your place of work. It is very important to have the latest posters hanging up in the work site for employees to see.
