Oregon (OR) Department Of Human Resources
August 21st, 2006 Posted by KimberlyIn Oregon our department of human resources is very helpful in making us feel good about working there as well as making us feel good about staying there to work. This department is here to help us either as employees or employers to help is either stay employed or to help us find the employees that we need to be successful in every aspect of our working lives. This department will help us to find a job if we have lost ours or help us to find the help we need if there is not enough.
Our department of human resources in Oregon has worked very hard recently to help us get our state working again and that is meant in every sense of the word. In the past three years they have worked very hard to lower our unemployment rate from a staggering 8.5% to a current rate of 5.6%. This is still a little above the national average of 4.8% however considering where it was to where it is now that is a huge accomplishment. That means that a lot of people are now working in Oregon who were not working in Oregon before this is a great thing. In addition to the lower unemployment numbers that are being posted, there have been well over 144,000 new jobs created within our state in that short period of time. That means that we are growing both economically and commercially in our state.
Unemployment is just one of the areas that is covered by the department of human resources in our state. There is also the issue of workplace safety that is run through this department. We also should remember that this department is also responsible for the enforcement of labor laws in our state on all fronts for both the employers and the employees.
