New Hampshire State Discrimination Posters

New Hampshire state discrimination posters must be displayed in workplaces throughout New Hampshire. These posters need to contain specific information about the rights and protections workers enjoy under federal and New Hampshire laws. Furthermore, the New Hampshire state discrimination posters must be placed in an area where all employees will be able to see them.

The main purpose of the New Hampshire state discrimination posters is to inform employees of what type of discrimination is not allowed in the workplace. No worker can be discriminated against because of their sex, sexual orientation, age, race, color, creed, marital status, familial status, national origin, or physical or mental disability. No qualified person can be refused a job, fired, refused a promotion, or be treated negatively in any other way for one of these reasons. If they are, they need to file a claim with the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights.

One of the main purposes of the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights is to eliminate discrimination in employment. A person who feels they’ve been a victim of discrimination should file a claim as soon as possible. Generally the alleged victim of discrimination must file the claim within one hundred and eighty days from the time of the last incident of discrimination. If the time limit has expired, the claim may still be accepted under certain circumstances. The claim will go through a pre-set process with the Commission. There is no fee for filing a claim and the alleged victim can’t be retaliated against for filing such a claim.

Employees need to make sure they are familiar with the location and the content of the New Hampshire state discrimination posters in their workplace. Employers need to make sure they are familiar with the rules and laws regarding discrimination and the posting of the New Hampshire state discrimination posters. Knowledge of these things will ensure protection for both employees and employers.
