Labor Law Posters for Arkansas

August 31st, 2006 Posted by Derrick

I thought now would be a good time to discuss the labor law posters for Arkansas with you because as of October 1, 2006, Arkansas’ minimum wage is going to increase. This means that all employers must make sure they have the correct posters being displayed. If they don’t, they are in violation of the law.

Labor law posters for Arkansas are required to be displayed in all workplaces in Arkansas. They must be in an area where they will be easily seen by all employees. These posters are required to cover both the state and federal posting requirements.

The state of Arkansas has four basic posting requirements. One of the four is the minimum wage posting, which must be updated before October 1, 2006 (when the minimum wage increases). The other three posting requirements for the labor law posters for Arkansas are the right-to-know, workers’ compensation, and unemployment insurance. The federal posting requirements for Arkansas are the same as the other forty-nine states in the U.S.

There are exceptions for some employers and their posting requirements. For example, an employer with less than three employees doesn’t have to offer workers’ compensation for the one or two employees. This is just one example; there are other exceptions to the posting requirements for the labor law posters for Arkansas.

It is the employer’s responsibility to make sure they have the correct labor law posters for Arkansas and that the posters are located in the appropriate area. The labor law posters for Arkansas must be in a well-lit area where all employees have a very good chance of seeing them. This stands to reason since these posters are meant to protect and inform workers. Failure by an employer to display the correct labor law posters for Arkansas in the appropriate area is a violation of the law.
