Nebraska Child Labor Law Posters

I found some information about the child labor laws of Nebraska while searching on the internet today. There are a lot of restrictions and law governing minors working in this state. You can find all the information about the child labor laws in this state by finding copies of the Nebraska Child Labor Law Posters. In the state, employers are required to post the Nebraska Child Labor Law Posters in a conspicuous area where all employees have access to them. Many post them in places like the work room, break area or main office.

As with all the states, minors are restricted in the jobs they can fill. Those jobs that are considered to be hazardous are not allowed to be filled by a minor. Some of these jobs include, but are not limited to, manufacturing and storing explosives, coal mining, logging or working in a sawmill, wrecking, meat packing, and anything that exposes the minor to radioactive materials. Most jobs held by minors under the age of 18 are retail and clerical positions. Jobs that can be done at any age in the state of Nebraska are newspaper delivery, theatrical or motion picture work, and working for your parents (so long as it is not a hazardous job).

The hours a minor 14 and 15 can work are limited like this: they can work between 7 AM and 7 PM (extended to 9 PM from June 1st to Labor Day), 3 hours on school days and 8 hours on non-school days, 18 hours during school weeks and 40 hours during non-school weeks.

Minors in this state are also required to receive the same minimum wage as the adult workers, so long as the establishment is required to pay minimum wage.

This is just a brief overview of some of the child labor laws in the state of Nebraska. For a more detailed look at all of the laws, find copies of the Nebraska Child Labor Law Posters. Or, for even more information in one spot, check out the Nebraska Complete Labor Law Poster.
