Department of Labor Compliance Posters

Be sure that your business has the right Department of Labor Compliance Posters displayed, especially if you are concerned about operating within the law. Keep reading if you are wondering what Department of Labor Compliance Posters are!

It is the law that Department of Labor Compliance Posters are displayed in areas that employees have easy access to, such as break rooms or lunch rooms. Not only must they be displayed, they must be current. So old Department of Labor Compliance Posters just won’t do! These Department of Labor Compliance Posters detail both state and federal laws, and allow employees the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their labor rights.

Department of Labor Compliance Posters required by the state differ depending upon what state your business is located in, but almost always include notices on minimum wage, discrimination, workers’ compensation, and OSHA. Other notices are usually included as well. Federal posters include notices on Equal Opportunity Employment, Federal Minimum Wage, the Employee Polygraph Protection Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and OSHA’s Job Safety and Health Protection Act. And fairly recently a new one has been added—the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

What is USERRA? In a nutshell, this poster helps vets understand employee eligibility and job entitlements, employer obligations, benefits, and remedies under the Act. The law itself is intended to encourage non-career uniformed service so America can benefit from the protection of those people. Basically, it allows our country to be served by qualified people while also allowing public and private businesses the opportunity to depend on those same individuals.

I wanted to point out that Department of Labor Compliance Posters change frequently, and as I mentioned before it’s the law that only the most current posters are displayed. Make sure your business is up to date and replaces posters when changes occur.

That’s all for today on Department of Labor Compliance Posters. I hope this information helps.
