South Carolina State Mandatory Posers

September 26th, 2006 Posted by Kimberly

South Carolina is a great place to work and live. It is a place that takes a lot of pride in what it does and it also has a lot of laws in place to help both the employees and the employers in our state as set forth by the labor board. Many of these most relevant laws can be found on the South Carolina State Mandatory Posters. For the most part these items are great as they keep everyone informed of their rights and the laws that govern employees. They are a great tool to educate and inform as well as keep people aware of the labor laws. However, this can only occur of they are used properly. If the South Carolina State Mandatory Posters are not posted and updated as frequently as they should be not only will your employees miss out on information, but you will find yourself in trouble with the South Carolina Labor Board for not being in compliance with the rule of having a poster that is posted and current on all laws.

There are some major laws that are required to be posted on your South Carolina State Mandatory Posters. These laws are Right To Work Laws, Child Labor, Wage, OSHA, Discrimination Notice, Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment Insurance. These are all laws that are designed to help the employee by providing them with benefits and privileges as workers. You must also keep in mind that anytime one of these laws change or a new law comes into effect and is on your poster you will need to update your poster in order to keep yourself in compliance with the labor board.

Remember that you are the one who will need to monitor this and keep it updated. If the labor board comes in and discovers that you do not have or your poster is out of date then you will be out of compliance and subject to fines as well as other punishments. So keep yourself law abiding and check and update your poster.

Is it okay for your employer to talk to other employees about your pay and other personal things? What do I do?

Hi Johnson! This is obviously unprofessional conduct and poor management. But, there is no law against it.

If the employer is sharing your private health information with other employees, in some cases that may be a violation of HIPAA.

Some companies have policies prohibiting employees (even managers) from discussing salaries, spreading rumors, or discussing another person’s personal information. If this is the case, you may be able to report your boss to the HR department or his supervisor. Unfortunately, if your boss is the owner of the company, there is little that you can do about this situation except ask him or her to stop.
