Free OSHA Posters

Alas, my loyal readers, as employers, you know the costs too often associated with the compliance of state and federal laws. Sure, compliance is important. It keeps you from getting fined from federal and state labor departments and agencies, and it’s good to meet the standards of care for your employees.

But at the same time, compliance can get costly, even when it comes to something as simple as labor law and employment posters. These are mandated in every state in the Union, and can number in the double-digits when it comes to how many different types of posters you need to meet the law. Just for federal posters alone, employers around the country need to have at least six different posters in their arsenal.

These six include: the OSHA poster, the Family and Medical Leave Act posting, the minimum wage posting, the USERRA posting for armed service employees, the polygraph protection act posting, and the Equal Employment Opportunity posting. With all of these to put up in their work sites, an employer—especially those of you with many work sites—would be tempted to finding a low-cost, even free, approach.

Take Free OSHA Posters, for instance. Wouldn’t it be great to have these and not have to worry about the costs of putting up a legitimate OSHA poster. But if you go the route of the Free OSHA Posters, at least go that route with some common sense.

Not all Free OSHA Posters might be legit. Some Free OSHA Posters could not even contain all of the information that they’re supposed to. Be sure, for example, that your Free OSHA Posters go into detail about all of the remedies that employees could have if they suspect that their work site is unsafe. They could go direct to their bosses, on one hand, or they could go to the OSHA authorities on the other, for instance.
