Free Choking Poster
September 29th, 2006 Posted by MarkAh, back to the drawing board again with the safety posters. That’s not to say we haven’t learned a ton when it comes to all of the different types of safety posters out there. Not at all. We’ve covered so many different kinds, and learned important details about each.
There was the forklift safety poster, that we learned is mandatory at work sites where forklifts are located. Such a poster reminds employees important safety tips when using, or working around, a forklift or other heavy machinery.
And we’ve even learned details about the proper lifting posters, which go into details about how employees should pick up heavy objects. Remember, lift with your legs and not your back! Of course, kidding aside, such a poster can help reduce workers’ comp loss claims over time, and help to even reduce an employers’ workers’ comp insurance premiums.
But it also seems that once we learn the details and the premise behind one poster or another, up pops another poster that we’ve never heard of before. Hence, my comment on the back to the drawing board. And hence, the next poster that we’re looking at that we’ve never heard of before (or at least never talked about here in this blog). That poster is the free choking poster.
The free choking poster is the poster that you can receive from state government health officials that can help explain to employees what to do when an employee or a client or customer is choking on site. As you can imagine, the poster comes especially in handy for restaurants and other service industry spots where food and drink are passed around.
What the free choking poster does is tell employees what to do in case someone is either choking and conscious or unconscious, The free choking poster also lists the appropriate number for employees to call for emergency help.
