News on Employee Training in North Carolina

That’s because I can almost see your faces, you being my loyal readers, each and every time I bring the topic up. Your faces wrinkle up in amusement and question, wondering how many more times I am going to put you through another blog entry on safety and how you can cut costs on workers’ comp … yadda yadda yadda.
This time, I bring up my favorite topic because North Carolina has a special roving RV used to train your employees, with state funds, on the needs for safety and health awareness. This moving classroom is called Labor One. It is actually a 35-foot long training vehicle that can travel anywhere it needs to go in the state. Like Super Man, it will travel wherever it is needed to spread the good word about safety and health, though I doubt the Labor One can travel at the speed of sound. I think it is stuck traveling at whatever the speed limit is on North Carolina’s highways.
But nonetheless, Labor One is an important tool for employers to know about. Key is the fact that Labor One provides all of this hands on safety and health training for free, for up to 20 employees at a time. You can get topics geared to the construction industry if that is your trade, or have Labor One operate classrooms on safety and health for a more general industry background. Labor One can also take requests, if you have a particular safety issue or particular industry issue that is irking you and your employees, for which you are in dire need to help.
Some topics though that have already proven a favorite with Labor One’s fans include classes on personal protection equipment, on trenching and excavations for construction, on ladder safety, on fall protection, on electrical hazards, and on scaffolding.
