Anyone looking for a job in Connecticut should attend the Connecticut employment workshops scheduled for February. These workshops cover a wide range of topics from uncovering hidden jobs to expert tips on crafting an effective resume.

The Connecticut employment workshops fill up quickly – especially the resume and computer workshops – so be sure to reserve a place in advance.  All of the informative, popular workshops are held at the CTWorks center in Danbury. All of the workshops are provided free of charge by the Connecticut Dept. of Labor.

The Job Search Strategy workshop is essential for anyone who wants to maximize his or her efforts in finding a new job. The latest research on the job market plus helpful tips to determine where the best jobs are is included. This workshop is a 3 hour session that begins on 9 am February 15.

Networking is essential to any successful job search. According to the Connecticut Dept. of Labor, “You can’t find a job without this workshop!” Did you know that more than 70% of jobs are never advertised? The discussions, video and handouts in this workshop will help you to target those coveted jobs. This workshop is excellent for anyone looking for a new job or planning to change careers. The workshop begins at 9 am on February 20.

The workshop on Interviewing Techniques is slated for February 27 beginning at 9am. This workshop will help you make the most of your job interviews. Topics include asking the right questions, and giving the best answers.

Another popular computer workshop is the Internet Job Search Introduction. If you are interested in this workshop, definitely make reservations, because it always fills up quickly. The workshop is designed to help you create an email address for your job search. It also provides valuable tips to help you navigate the Internet and explore the many free online resources for job hunters.  This workshop, like all the others, is free. It begins at 9:30 am.
