Nevadas Employers Full of Energy
March 10th, 2007 Posted by MarkIf you are an employer on the cutting edge of the technology and energy industries, you might want to find your way to Nevada if you are not already there. Governor Jim Gibbons last month—again, still catching up on all of the news I have missed!—just signed an executive order that shows his strong support for companies and employers that are in the business of developing renewable energy. The executive order in fact is meant to streamline the process that employers must go through in order to get permission to carry out projects on renewable energy in the state.
The executive order also makes it so that the State Office of Energy is the official point man, so to speak, for the governor and his administration when it comes to dealing with companies and employers interested in this cutting edge filed of high tech energy development.
The reason that the governor of Nevada is keen to get cracking on this renewable energy bandwagon is because basically the Silver State is full of clean and renewable energy sources. One visit to Las Vegas and you know—there is a lot of sunshine in the state. And one visit outside of Las Vegas will tell you that Nevada also has a lot of wide open spaces to explore using that sun, as well as wind power, to harness Nature’s clean energy sources.
So companies and employers out there, if you are in this business, the state of Nevada encourages you to contact the State Office of Energy to find out more about how to go about setting up a project in their state. The office is also in the process of setting up a task force to explore how the state can allow grid access—cool term for the energy infrastructure in the state—to companies who are doing work in renewable energy.
