Arizona Office Safety
May 29th, 2007 Posted by AmeliaHow important is Arizona office safety to you? If you work in an office environment, you should be the first to say that it is very important. Does your office have an annual office safety review? If not, you should recommend it to your supervisor. You may not think that your job is particularly dangerous, but injuries can happen anywhere, and you health can be affected by day to day activities, such as using a computer. The spring is a great time to present fresh ideas for office safety and health.
One major consideration for Arizona office safety is computer use. With the lighting on the screens and the busy typing throughout the work day, it is not a wonder that people don’t feel well after a while. Workers get headaches, dizziness and eyestrain from staring at the screen all day. You should take a look around the room every few minutes to rest your eyes from the light, and shut your eyes for a few seconds every once in a while. Don’t fall asleep, though.
Another issue that arises with regards to computer use is carpal tunnel syndrome. This painful strain of the wrist happens to tons of workers every year. Improper positioning of the hands and wrists can cause damage. Serious cases require a surgical procedure. If you feel pain on your wrists, you should check your positioning. If it doesn’t stop after a long period of time, you should probably get it checked out by a doctor. Take care of yourself.
As an employee, you should do your part to keep the office safe. If you are on your break and spill your coffee, clean it up or at least put a “caution, wet floor” sign on it so no one slips. If there are obstacles on the floor, pick them up so no one trips. Keep personal belongings, supplies, and wires out of walkways. You can keep yourself and your coworkers safe in the work environment.
